When we are learning to develop skills outside the ordinary, we can get clogged, cramped, and overwhelmed, afraid of embarrassing ourselves in front of others, or even in front of ourselves, if we get too caught up in being right. They key is in not getting too caught up in the beginning in being right. The very fear of being wrong can shut down the ability to be right. You need to go down deep into lower levels of the subconscious, or expand out into the Higher Self that connects with facts on the continuum. Fear, instead, often keeps people stuck in the ordinary level of beta brain-wave, adrenalin ego based relation to the the world. Even anxiety can do so.

Some people can still manage to be very psychic under such conditions, but very often, that takes practice when more relaxed to work up to that skill. A person aspiring to be a gynecologist, similarly, isn’t going to perform a birth procedure in a hospital without preparation, but if in an emergency, might take it on, going by intuition.
The times when sudden action are required can sometimes bring out the strongest abilities, as having a potent purpose calls on wisdom in order to save someone from harm. Strong intent helps gather life force, and focus the portal you create, as it brings in the future you want to resonate with.
Psychic Abilities Genuine Magic
Psychic abilities can seem a little like a genuine magic act—we’re doing something that seems impossible, and really, mo matter how often we do it successfully, we have to make ourselves believe in it, even though we don’t believe it. That takes a kind of control over our own minds, the ability to suspect disbelief. Each time we prove to ourselves we can do it, it provides us with plenty of memories to help sustain the belief that we can use an amazing ability, such as seeing what needs to be healed in someone’s body, and if bringing healing energetically, watching how our work is going, knowing when to stop, what to say afterward to affect that person’s life.
Sometimes we have to just wing it and trust what we say, and afterward read the situation to find out whether we were right. If we get the sense we weren’t, we need to be able to let the people involved know. The more we practice, and gain feedback, the better we’ll be. One thing I do to practice my ordinary psychic skills, is guess each time before I open an email from someone, or get a voice-mail, the emotional tone of it. How did the person react to what I’d said previous, how are they feeling, how do they feel toward me, things I’d be able to tell from the message. I try to guess if a submission has been accepted by a magazine, each time. I don’t make a big deal of it. I don’t put myself under continual pressure. It’s just automatic, and quick.
I don’t get upset if I get it wrong. It’s just part of how I go along my day. I let it remain a guess, but the guess is not from the ordinary consciousness level. Being able to move between that one and other ones very quickly and seamlessly is valuable. Letting our minds jump from one distance to another regularly creates a fitness in the same way that looking close and then far provides exercise for our eyes. We can build up the “muscles.”
Develop Psychic Abilities By Looking Close And Far

Literally looking close and far is a good exercise to develop that ability to go into psychic states quickly. Myself, I might write an article, and while doing so, feel it’s time to stretch my mind briefly in a different direction. I take breaks to look more close or far away, as schoolchildren in China take breaks to literally look different distances. I might look at emails, guessing of course, what they say. This uses different parts of our brains, and different types of thought that we access by a variety of eye directions. Taking breaks for physical exercise, looking out the window, getting up for water, etc. help us keep our brain integrated.
Going beyond that, we can do a kind of meditation that uses eye direction to manipulate “direction” and “distance” of thoughts. We can close our eyes, and imagine we are looking close up at something. This can be something in our own aura, at the etheric level related to the body, or we can think of something concrete and in detail, and picture it as if we are looking at it at its most basic manifestation.
Then, we can start moving this thing in our mind father away, so we can see its wider auric meaning. Or we can keep it there, but just start looking outward from it, to see its wider layers of meaning. Or, we can start moving our eyes out around ourselves, as we access our wider levels, and then look at it from those levels.
For example, we might think about a health issue, picturing a problem body part or system in front of us. We can then look at the wider symbolism of it, what our health is telling us. We can keep opening our gaze to include more all encompassing levels, such as the meaning biologically, emotionally, spiritually, for ourselves, and for all who might share similarities with us, for all humans with our frailties, for the nature of embodiment of spirit into form. As we do that, we look from more expanded levels of our auras.
Then, we can reverse the direction and look for more detail in the more specific issue. We can train ourselves by looking wide, and narrow back and forth.
