For long, palmistry has been practice around the world. This ancient art of seeing the lines on the palm to tell the future was thought to be practiced by gypsies and witches, especially in Southern Asian countries such as China and India. Even as early as 3000 B.C, there were learned palm readers who treated this as a science, rather than a psychic function. In the Asian countries, where palmistry first originated, palmistry was considered a branch of astrology, and a clear science. However, its recent popularity has it associated with the occult and spirituality.
Spread of Palmistry
After the colonization of South Asia by the European countries, the science of palmistry reached Europe. Here, the science became more westernized, and gained a reputation of being associated with the dark arts. Since it was mostly the gypsies who read palms and told the future, the credibility of this psychic ability fell very low.
What is Palmistry?
Palmistry is a separate field of study. It is based on the principle that the hand carries vital information about your life. The lines in your hands are associated with past and future events of your life. The creases, bumps, lines and the mounds of your hand represent specific areas of your life. The shapes, length and boldness of these, can help you get information about various impending events of your life. When viewed in combination with your energies, your aura and your body language, the psychic can give you information about your life, as well as the purpose of your soul. Palmistry is a part of astrology, but it is not purely astrological in nature, and has many other aspects to it as well. The psychic seeks to find relationship between the patters of your palm as well as your zodiac sign.
Is This An Exact Science?
Like all other psychic abilities, palmistry is not an exact science either. The lines and markings on your palm keep changing as you grow. A child’s palm, for instance, is like a blank canvas. The lines are slight and few. This is usually because the child has a lot to accomplish in her life and as the child grows, the path she chooses for her life will help shape up the lines and the shapes of the hand. Palmists believe that a person can actively work to change the lines of the palms. Once you are able to do that, you can effectively change your potential and your future. Palmists also put a lot of faith in the practice of yoga, meditation and other Zen practices. Palmistry itself is a deeply spiritual discipline which seeks to separate the spirit of each of the object you use from its physical manifestation. The ultimate aim of this discipline, like all other disciplines, is to become one with the universe and to help potential clients who need a direction for their life. There is little research available on getting tangible results from palmistry, but the discipline continues to grow.
